Almost every metal roof falls into one of two families: standing seam, where the fasteners hide beneath interlocking vertical seams, and exposed fastener, where gasketed screws are driven through the panel face. Neither is "the wrong choice" — they solve different problems at different budgets.

01Standing seam — the premium system

Panels lock together along raised vertical seams, and every fastener sits hidden underneath — nothing penetrates the surface that weather can work on.

Standing seam is the highest performance and the sharpest appearance; exposed fastener gets you the durability of steel at a friendlier number.
